Heartland Hospice Veterans and other Volunteers Needed. Heartland Hospice of Washington is looking for caring and dedicated people with interest in serving terminally ill patients and their families. Veterans and other patients benefit in several ways from volunteers. Veterans find it beneficial to visit with other veterans. Volunteers provide a variety of services such as friendly visiting, patient transport, patient outings, errand running, light housekeeping, sitting vigil in the final hours, visiting with family who lost a loved one and clerical services. Volunteers can offer as little as one hour a month within their schedule. Heartland Hospice services families in Franklin, Gasconade and Crawford Counties; and portions of Washington and Phelps Counties. Volunteer classes are available to fit each person's schedule. Please call Dee Coppeans at Heartland Hospice at 636-390-4723 or 866-896-6151 for more information.
